Plain English summary: CareerRadar processes your CV and Gmail data entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to any CareerRadar server. Your CV stays in your browser. Your emails are read locally to find job matches and are never stored or transmitted. I do not sell, share, or profit from your data.
What CareerRadar accesses
Gmail data
Read locally in your browser to identify job-related messages and match them against your CV. This data is never transmitted to any CareerRadar server and is not stored between sessions.
Stored temporarily in Chrome's local storage on your device. Used to authenticate API requests to Gmail on your behalf. Expires automatically and can be revoked at any time from the Settings tab.
CV data
Uploaded directly in the browser and processed locally. Stored in Chrome's local storage on your device only. Never transmitted to any external server or third party.
Extension data
Scan timestamps, email counts, match counts, and your preferences are stored locally in Chrome's local storage. This data does not leave your device.
Pro licence (paid users only)
Your licence key and an anonymous device identifier are sent to a Zambezi Media server to confirm authenticity. No personal data, CV content, or email data is included in this request.
What I never do
- Collect your name, email address, or personal identifying information through the extension
- Store your CV, email content, or scan results on any server
- Sell, share, or transfer your data to any third party
- Use your data for advertising or profiling purposes
- Track your browsing activity or history
- Send emails, delete messages, or modify your Gmail account
- Access emails older than your configured scan window
Third-party services
Google Gmail API
Used to read your Gmail messages. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy.
Supabase (Pro users only)
Used to validate Pro licence keys. Hosted on Supabase infrastructure. No personal data beyond the licence key and an anonymous device identifier is transmitted. Supabase Privacy Policy →
Deleting your data
All data stored by CareerRadar lives in Chrome's local storage on your device. You can remove it at any time:
- Go to the My CV tab and click Remove CV to delete your CV text
- Go to Settings and click Disconnect Gmail to revoke and delete your OAuth token
- Uninstall CareerRadar from Chrome — this permanently removes all local storage including scan history and settings
Children's privacy
CareerRadar is not directed at children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used CareerRadar, contact me at the address below.
Changes to this policy
I may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at zambezimedia.online/careerradar/privacy. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of the extension after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
